Lovely hotel nice clean well presented rooms, polite staff - great cocktails! Easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. Even returned my blouse to me that I forgot - great customer service. Highly recommend! If you found this useful please give me a like👍

Despite what Google or the hotel itself may claim, West Plaza is a two-star hotel with a semi-upgraded lobby area to serve as a facade of sorts. The staff are professional and friendly, but there were times when there was absolutely no one manning the front desk, restaurant area, or bizarre lounge annex. The room itself checked just enough boxes to be deemed minimally satisfactory to feel okay paying money to stay in. The bed was fortunately more comfortable than it looked, but the pillows were all thin, worn, and need replacing. They also did not supply spare pillows or blankets in the stand-alone coat closet like any standard hotel would do by default. The building is indeed several decades old - the rooms and hallways have low ceilings, the carpets are quite dated, etc. - but the staff can prioritize simple improvements such as dusting light fixtures, thoroughly cleaning the corners of the bathroom to remove grime, providing coat hangers that aren't flimsy and decades-old, and replacing bedding that is clearly past its expiry date. The sky is the limit in terms of what management can do to invest in relatively low-cost upgrades to improve the rooms and the guest experience in them, and given the hotel's prime location, I would highly suggest they begin this process if resources exist.

Overall the experience was ok. Location is excellent and staff members were very friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant that we had for dinner was delicious. Sadly the rooms don't have air-conditioning. The TV is very basic, no smart features in sight. The carpet was in urgent need of a clean. The bed was far too soft. The shower curtain sticks to your body and lets a lot of water onto the bathroom floor, creating a lake in front of the toilet - a glass door would prevent this from happening.

Pretty average. Rooms are noisy and cold. Very dated. Beds are super uncomfortable and the pillows are very thin. Definitely would not stay here again if I had the choice. There are definitely better options for the price.

I stayed at West Plaza Hotel for two nights for work this week. The room was good, if a little bit cold, but the provided heater worked well to heat it up. The front desk and bar staff were friendly and helpful. The music they played in the hotel common areas was awesome and I found myself singing along most of the time. A fantastic location right in central Wellington.

Awesome location. 5 mins walk to most CBD attractions, restaurants, shopping.Friendly staff, early check-in was permitted.Rooms as advertised, comfortable bed, pillow options. Only gave 4 stars due to sink not having a decent ledge to put personal items on and no fan in bathroom so after shower you couldn't put makeup on until mirror cleared.

Location was great - if you're looking for a central location and don't have a car, this is ok value for money. Parking was average at best - very limited and minimal space. Attention to detail lacking - booking for 3, only 2 towels provided (???), room could've done with a bit more of a dusting. Check in was friendly enough. Didn't quite meet expectations but better than some others in the price range. 3.5 stars.

We booked this hotel for its proximity to Takina, Wellington’s new conference centre. The room was fresh and clean: a decent but not luxurious space. The bed and pillows were comfortable. We ate in for one dinner and three breakfasts as well as having room service. All meals were tasty and well presented. The hotel’s biggest asset is its staff: they are so friendly and helpful. I was very cold on our first night and they not only put a fan heater beside me in the restaurant but also took up extra blankets and adjusted the heater- and then explained to me how it alters from aircon to heat. Thank you Juan!

Excellent location. The staff were fantastic. The interior may not be five star as some comments mentioned but it's comfortable, well equipped and very clean. Comfy bed, too. Yes, there's no Aircon per se but you rarely need it in Wellington so the fancy fans are fine! I loved the forest and bird toiletries. Thanks so much team!
