Great delicious food!! Hot enough for nerdy people. Can be too hot for most! Don't go top unless you are OK with such spicy foods.
So when you read soul shake you see the pictures looks can be deceiving promote well but UNFORTUNATELY that was not the case here we paid 75dollars for food that had to much SEASONING OVER SEASONING TAKES AWAY THE FLAVOR OF THE CHICKEN!! 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵The BATTER was over everything which had seasoning of two much SPICES FELT LIKE WE WHERE EATING SPICES AFTER SPICES 😡😡😡😡 BATTERED MUSHROOMSS BURNT AND SPICES AGAIN AND DONUTS FATTY AND OILY!!!!OVERALL WE WILL NOT BE SPENDING MONEY HERE AGAIN 🥵🥵🥵🥵🥵ADVICE: PUT SEASONING IN SEPERATE BAG ON THE SIDE!!!
Consistently great food and service. The new owners seem to be taking it seriously and I haven’t noticed any change in quality, still going regularly. Great to see it still there after it looked like it might close down!
Have been to this place a couple of times in the last few weeks. If you after an awesome juicy burger with some heat this is the place. I love spicy food so was great to have a great burger with some spice to it.The staff is quite friendly and welcoming as well.
Service is good, the dude was friendly and generous. I think the spice level is a bit understated though. Found out afterwards that level 2 is hotter than Indian hot. Should have asked first... Still delicious, i was just crying while I ate it 🤣
We enjoyed the chicken and donuts, chips and the wings. Not as crispy as I expected but tasty and good portion size. Tiny little negative, I was expecting fresh white bread slice with the wings and pickles but got half a burger bun. Similar item in theory I but for the price of a loaf of fresh white bread it'd make a huge difference.
Ordered the level 2 chicken sando on the 7th of October and fries and the chicken was incredibly dry and tough and the rest of the burger bland.
Ordered the boneless Chicken Fangers Level 4 spice. Did not disappoint. It was indeed very spicy. DO NOT COME HERE if you are a wimp of spices, it'll give you one hell of a challenge. The service was a ten out of ten. Will definitely come back sometime.
Ordered the chicken wings with level 4 spice, did not dissapooint at all! Though it was very spicy, it was still very good.
Dropped in for a lunch, never been here before but the food was deee-licious!!! Will definitely order again. Atmosphere inside wasn't that great though.
Was heartbroken when soul shack shut down so happier than ever to see it open again! I’ve been a few times since they reopened and the new owners are doing a great job bringing the flavour and value for money. Keep up the good work guys!

Got food from this place delivered. Got Chicken Fangers for me, a sando for a friend and some chips also for myself, all separate items.I asked for the chips and Fangers to have no sauce due to my intolerance to certain textures and tastes. However when the food arrived, the chips were packaged with the sando, with sauce from the sando dripping onto a portion of the chips, and the Fangers in a separate container. I understand that other people may not have an issue with this but just as a future reference.The Sando and the Fangers were amazing, however they were ordered with a Level 2 Birdseye spice, and I believe they put Level 4 Carolina Reaper spice on instead as I can usually handle a good bit of heat but my friend says it tastes exactly like it.Overall, I would recommend this place to people if you can handle a kick of spice, and would definitely come back here again.
Food is not as good as from the previous owner, still worth a visit if you're a fan of spicy chicken. But I found the standards has dropped. My wings were not as tender and juicy as before and a lot smaller. Fries were ok. I asked for 1 star (mild) on my wings but tasted very spicy.
I had high hopes for this place based on the reviews.Unfortunately for me I didn't sort by newest, or I would've seen they've changed owners and are nothing like the reviews would suggest.I got the level 4 with Carolina Reaper. Since I grow my own reapers and love heat, I thought I can't go wrong.For $16, the burger was tiny, and flavourless. There was heat but that was it. Couldn't taste much else.I was expecting an incredible flavourful southern style fried chicken experience but sadly this wasn't to be.From walking in and hearing Indian music playing, I had my doubts how authentic the southern style chicken would be. The restaurant was near empty but I persevered nonetheless.To top it off, there's a sign saying 3% surcharge for pay wave. So I inserted my card, only to still be charged 3% more.The owner said, oh it applies to all credit cards! Well that's not what the sign says. Surcharge was refunded once questioned but still seemed dishonest.At $16 for a small piece of chicken, a few pieces of lettuce and a slice of processed cheese, there's more than enough profit to cover your card processing fees without having to add a surcharge.I hope this place can improve based on past reviews perhaps worth a try if they're still around in a year or two.
Unfortunately I never got a chance to try this place before the change of ownership. Saw the mixed reviews, was craving a chicken burger and decided to give it a go...I got the chicken burger, level 1. It was okay, nothing special. The chicken was great, big chunks, juicy and crispy. But the burger was really dry. Only a tiny bit of mayo (and pretty average mayo at that, not the good stuff), no other sauce. I also felt like the spice was just heat and no actual flavour which was disappointing. There is a decent amount of heat in level 1, and I'm someone that likes spicy food.I went at 8:15pm on a Thursday night and I was the only one there.I'll only go back if I'm craving a chicken burger, and get takeaway so I can put my own sauce on at home.If I didn't have such high expectations, I would have given it a higher rating. But compared to how good I've heard this place used to be, I was pretty disappointed.
Seriously some of the nicest chicken I’ve ever had. I ordered the 4 piece with level 2 spice that came with fries and bread and pickles. Really good chicken.
